Do you need paint correction before ceramic coating?

Not always. Every APC Auto Spa coating package includes a single-stage polish that gets paint to about 80% of perfect, which is enough for many cars. Full paint correction is a separate add-on, done only when the paint needs it.

What's the difference between polishing and paint correction?
A single-stage polish is one pass that brightens paint and removes light haze. Paint correction is slower, more detailed work to remove swirl marks and scratches as fully as the paint allows.
Think of the polish as a good cleaning and the correction as a full restoration.
Why does it matter before a coating?
A coating is clear. It locks in whatever is underneath, flaws included, for years. If swirls bother you, the time to remove them is before the coating goes on.
How do I know if my car needs correction?
Look at the paint in direct sun or under a bright light. Fine circular scratches (swirls) or dull patches are signs. A new car with healthy paint often doesn't need it. An older car or one that's been through brush car washes may.
What affects the cost of correction?
Correction is billed by the hour, so cost depends on the size of the vehicle, the condition of the paint and how close to perfect you want it. The shop will look at your car and tell you.
