Can you ceramic coat a Tesla or a Cybertruck?
Short answer
Yes to Teslas: they're coated routinely, and APC Auto Spa has coated over 1,000 of them. Cybertrucks are different. Their body is stainless steel, and Ceramic Pro's coating warranty covers factory clear-coated paint only, so there's no Ceramic Pro coating warranty on a Cybertruck.
Quick facts
| Teslas coated by APC | Over 1,000 |
|---|---|
| Tesla paint | Factory clear coat, covered by warranty |
| Cybertruck body | Stainless steel |
| Cybertruck coating warranty | None from Ceramic Pro |
Is there anything special about coating a Tesla?
Teslas get coated the same way as other cars with factory clear-coated paint. Many owners pair a coating with paint protection film on the front end to guard against chips.
Why doesn't the warranty cover a Cybertruck?
Ceramic Pro's coating warranty is written for factory clear-coated paint. A Cybertruck's exterior is bare stainless steel, which isn't that kind of surface, so the warranty doesn't apply.
What other finishes aren't covered?
Matte finishes are excluded, and so are vehicles used commercially.
How APC Auto Spa does it
APC Auto Spa has coated over 1,000 Teslas at its Tukwila and Monroe shops. It's routine work for the team.
